How to Cite Sources for the Opposite Argument Paper

 

Ř     All of the articles in the Opposing Viewpoints Series  are REPRINTS of the original articles.

Ř     You have to cite the original article AND cite the work in which you found the reprint. 

A Work in an Anthology, Reference, or Collection

Works may include an essay in an edited collection or anthology, or a chapter of a book. The basic form is for this sort of citation is as follows:

 

Lastname, First name. "Title of Essay." Title of Collection. Ed. Editor's Name(s). Place of Publication: Publisher, Year. Page range of entry. Medium of Publication.

 

EXAMPLE:

Sharp, Mary. “Separate Classrooms Are the Best Environment for Children with Disabilities.” People with Disabilities.  Ed. Dawn Laney. Detroit: Greenhaven Press, 2008. 109-114. Print.

An Article from an Online Database like Points of View or Issues – Understanding Controversy and Society

Cite articles from online databases just as you would print sources. The basic form is for this sort of citation is as follows:

 

Last name, First name. “Title of Essay.” Title of Periodical Issue Number (Date): page numbers. Database Name. Web. Date of access.

 

EXAMPLES:

Belanger, Craig. “Wikipedia is an Important Source of Information.” Points of View (2009): p2-2.  Points of View. Web. 15 April 2010.

Mangu-Ward, Katherine. “Wikipedia and Beyond.” Reason (June 2007): Vol. 39 Issue 2, P18-29. Points of View. Web. 15 April 2010.
