This  interactive map of the United States allows the user to display airports, federal lands, urban areas, water  features,  parkways, rivers, railroads, roads, volcanoes and seismic events.

Hoover's offers a searchable database of 10,000 major public, private, and
international companies. Search the corporate directory by ticker symbol,

This site is searchable as well as browsable, thus permitting the reasearcher to search by keyword.  It  requires an initial registration, but is mostly free.  Searching in both  Todays News and Extended Search is free; one must purchase articles from the 365 Day Archive. 

Roget's Thesaurus

The University of Chicago's ARTFL Project now includes Roget's Thesaurus
(the 1911 edition, currently being updated). Although classified as
experimental, this is a good reference tool for writers.

The National Address Server

proper format along with the ZIP+4 code. You can retrieve a Postscript or a
