Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta is a national honor society whose purpose is to stimulate interest in mathematics by providing public recognition of superior mathematical scholarship and by promoting various mathematical activities. The national organization was formed in 1957 to engender keener interest in mathematics, to develop sound scholarship in the subject and promote enjoyment of mathematics among high school students.

In order to be eligible for the Byram Hills chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, students must:

  • Have maintained a 3.8 GPA in core, Regents level Math courses
  • Completed 10 service "credits" prior to induction

Students must also complete 2 service "credits" each year, and maintain their grades in order to remain in Mu Alpha Theta.
