Brett Summers, President            

Brett Summers is serving in his twelfth year on the Board of Education and his sixth year as a Board officer. During his Board service, Brett has served on all of the various Board committees and in most liaison roles. Brett also serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association (WPSBA), and is Chair of the WPSBA Audit & Finance Committee.  Through his affiliations with WPSBA and the New York State School Boards Association, Brett regularly engages in advocacy work for public education and the Byram Hills School District.

Prior to joining the Board of Education, Brett served on various Board advisory committees, and is a past member and Chairperson of the Byram Hills Non Partisan Committee for Board of Education Candidates. Brett also served as the Regional Commissioner of Armonk's AYSO youth soccer program from 2004-2007, and is a former member of the management team of the Armonk United Soccer Club.  Brett was active in Armonk's Cub Scout pack as Assistant Cub Master and Den Leader, and currently assists Middlebury College as an alumni interviewer. Following Middlebury College, Northwestern Law School, and national law firm practice, Brett was a senior bank regulatory and enforcement attorney at a federal banking agency.  Brett moved to Armonk with his wife, Jane, to raise their family in the Byram Hills School District.  They have two children.

Scott Levy, Vice President
Scott Levy is serving his first term on the Byram Hills Board of Education. Currently, he sits on the Audit and Policy Committees and serves as the School Board's Liaison to the Town of North Castle. Scott is also the Board’s Representative to the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association’s Legislative Action Committee and the Byram Hills Education Foundation. He was formerly a Board Member of the Byram Hills Education Foundation, serving two years as Chairman.

Scott is the Director of Private Investments at Klingenstein, Fields. Prior to that, he spent 20 years working as an investment banker, most recently as a Managing Director at Barclays. Scott currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Blythedale Children’s Hospital Board of Trustees and as President of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Westchester. He graduated with a degree in economics from Harvard College and completed a Senior Research Fellowship in public education policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Mia DiPietro
Mia DiPietro is serving her first term as a Trustee on the Byram Hills Board of Education. Currently, she sits on the Communications Committee and serves as the Board's Liaison to the Byram Hills Preschool Association (BHPA). 

Prior to joining the Board of Education, Mia served on the BHPA Board for five years, acting as liaison to the Board of Education. In addition, she managed the BHPA Facebook page and served on the Working Moms Committee.

She has participated in the Byram Hills Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) as a class parent for two of her children in both Coman Hill and Wampus Schools. She is also a Girl Scout troop co-leader. 

Mia works as a Talent Management Systems Project Manager for Marsh & McLennan Companies where she has worked since 1998.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Elementary Education from Clark University in 1992 and studied System Analysis and Design at Columbia University. They have lived in Armonk since 2007.

Robin Glat
      Robin Glat is serving her seventh year, in her third term as trustee for the Board of Education.  This year she participates on the Policy, Communications, Budget, Emergency/Safety, and Audit Committees. She has previously served as Board President and Vice President, and on various Board committees.  Prior to being elected to the Board, Robin served on the Board of Education Facilities Advisory Committee and as President, Secretary, and School District Liaison for the Byram Hills Pre-school Association. She is a PTSA member and a proud Bobcat Boosters and BHEF supporter.  Robin was on the Armonk United Soccer Club management team and was the travel team manager. Her previous professional experience includes Managing Director, Marketing Director, and Business Development Manager positions for direct marketing and general advertising. In addition, she had dedicated her efforts to enhancing her industry and her companies by contributing as international industry panelist, seminar leader, contributing columnist and instructor. Robin is a graduate of Ithaca College and has been a resident of Armonk since August 2000. She and her husband, Jeff, have twin boys at Byram Hills High School. 

Michael Sanders

Michael R. Sanders is serving his second year of his first term on the Byram Hills Board of Education. Currently, he participates in the Board’s Audit and Budget Committees and is the Board’s liaison to the Athletics Advisory Council and the Byram Hills Education Foundation.  Mike was formerly a Board Member of the Byram Hills Education Foundation, serving as past Chairman and Treasurer.

Mike is the President & Chief Investment officer of Clark Dodge Asset Management, LLC.  He co-founded the registered investment adviser in 2010 and has more than more than 23 years of investment management and financial services experience. He is Series 65 securities licensed. 

Mr. Sanders earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University's CW Post Campus.   He and his wife, Kelley, have four children attending the Byram Hills schools.


Ira M. Schulman   

Ira is serving his eighteenth year on the Board of Education and has served seven terms as Board President. Ira is a partner at the national law firm of Pepper Hamilton LLP, and specializes in all aspects of construction law. Ira's practice primarily involves the negotiation of construction contracts and the disposition of complex construction disputes through litigation or alternative dispute resolution procedures. He is a frequent lecturer on construction law for various bar associations and continuing legal education providers.

In the mid 1990’s, Ira served three years as Commissioner of the Armonk region of the American Youth Soccer Organization and served for many years on its board of directors. He is a past chairperson of the Coman Hill site based council and Byram Hills School Board Non-Partisan Nominating Committee. He has also served several terms as an officer and trustee of Temple Shaaray Tefila. In addition, Ira served six years on the board of governors of The Windmill Club including two years as its president. He is currently Vice-President of Hope’s Door, a Westchester based not-for-profit dedicated to assisting victims of domestic abuse.

Ira is a graduate of Lehigh University and Georgetown University Law School. He and his wife, Betty, a physical therapist, have lived in the District for 29 years. Their children graduated from Byram Hills in 2004 and 2008.

Lara Stangel

Lara Stangel is serving her first term on the Byram Hills Board of Education. Currently, she sits on the Health Advisory Committee and serves as the School Board's Liaison to the PTSA. 

Prior to joining the Board of Education, Lara had served on the Byram Hills Preschool Association House Tour Committee. She also served on the PTSA as the vice president of education from 2010 to 2013, the PTSA president from 2013 to 2015 and the PTSA liaison to the Byram Hills Education Foundation (BHEF).  She was a trustee of the BHEF from 2011 to 2013, and again from 2015 to 2016, where she served on the Grant, Insta-Grant and Gala Committees.

As PTSA president, she established its Advocacy Committee, the purpose of which is to inform and help mobilize the community about educational reform and to instruct how to navigate changes that directly impact the Byram Hills School District.

Her professional career was as a psychiatric social worker, having received a Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College in 1992 and a Master Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 1994. She also received an advanced degree in clinical social work from New York University in 1999.

She has been living in Armonk for 10 years with her husband, Justin, and their two daughters, Emily who is in sixth grade and Ashley who is in fourth grade.
