JULY 8 BOARD MEETING
The Board conducted its annual reorganization meeting,
focusing on business such as the swearing in of members
and officers, appointments of Board staff and advisors,
and approval of the Board meeting calendar. Three
Board members were sworn in to new terms resulting
from the June 3 election: Wendy Gardner (3 yr. term),
Gail Reese (3 yr. term), and Dr. Eve Rice (1 yr. term).
Ira Schulman was sworn as the Board President for
2003-04, with Eve Rice as the Vice-President. At this
meeting, the Board also affirmed appointments ranging
from that of the School District Clerk to attorneys

meeting, the Board reviewed the calendar of its
own meetings for the 2003-04 school year, with most
of the meetings falling on the first and third Tuesdays
of each month, usually at 7:30 p.m.
BUSINESS AGENDA
Staffing News
Typically for this time of year, the Board approved
a number of staff transitions, including appointments
of new teachers. A complete list of these actions
is shown in the box on the opposite side.
Athletic Facilities Fields Project Update
Following voter approval in June of 2003 for an athletic
facilities renovation project, the Board was updated
on the potential schedule and design details. A work
session on the project was scheduled for July 17,
2003.
Possible Classroom Project
Also discussed was the next large topic under the
Board's primary goal of "Successful Management
of Continuous Enrollment Growth" - the possibility
of another project to add classroom space. It was
