On the State-wide school Budget Vote, 5/18, Byram
Hills voters turned out to approve the district's
budget proposal by a margin of 740 "yes"
votes to 484 "no," or 1,224 total votes
cast. Convening a brief public meeting after the votes
were tallied, the Board recorded the voting results
and thanked the Byram Hills community for their support.
Also recorded were the results which returned three
incumbent Board members to their seats: John Grimes,

Bid Recommendations
Following up on two facilities matters, the Board
accepted bids on site work for the Athletic Facilities
Project, and for the installation of four additional
portable classrooms for Coman Hill and Wampus. The
successful bidder on the site work for the Athletic
Facilities Project is DeRosa Contracting, at a bid
of $2,143,203. Other bids for aspects of the Athletic
Facilities Project were still being considered, but
this decision allows the fields renovation to proceed.
For the portable classroom work, the successful bidder
on the site work was Shawn's Lawns, Inc. The successful
bidder for the portable classrooms and their installation
was Resun Leasing. .

The May 25 meeting featured a reception to honor teachers
about to receive tenure- more than two dozen professional
staff members - High School: Julie
Chen, Nelson DaSilva, Elyse Dub,
Michael Hubertus, Joy Nowak, Tracy Ryan, Nina Tantillo-Elton
(effective 9/18/04); Kerry Wagner, Kristina White.
H.C. Crittenden: Alan Lounsbury,
