diverse and previously underutilized recruitment sources.
It also includes attention to the district's contractual relationships
with employee groups.
Accountability on these goals should be visible throughout
the school year, since Board meetings will be scheduled to
return to each goal for agenda-by-agenda focus.
BUSINESS AGENDA
Charge to Committee on Classroom and Core Facilities
Foremost in the business agenda was the Board's review of
the Charge to a committee which will add input and perspective
to this year's deliberations on the question of additional
classroom and core facilities needs. The Charge asks members
of the committee to commit to attendance at four Board meetings
where this topic will be featured:
- October 22
- November 18
- December 18
- January 13
Parents, members of organizations in the school community,
or other interested residents are invited to submit their
own names as volunteers, or nominate others. While no particular
expertise is required for membership, an active interest in
the Byram Hills schools is a prerequisite. The committee will
be named in early October. All district residents are invited
to the meetings, even without membership on the committee.
For a complete copy of the Charge, visit the district's website,
or call the superintendent's office. The website will soon
include other updates on the Board's progress toward resolving
these facilities questions, and its overall goal of "Successful
Management of Continuing Enrollment Growth."
