MAY 17 BUDGET VOTE
The voters in Byram Hills approved two propositions-one
for the 2005-06 operating budget of $59.5MM, and another
for the use of $1.6MM from reserves to complete the
Athletic Facilities Project. Two Board members were
elected for three-year terms-Ira Schulman (returning
for a third term), and Brett Summers (new to the Board).
The Board expressed great appreciation for the community's
support.

24 BOARD MEETING
Tenure Candidates
Twenty-eight members of the professional staff were
recommended by the superintendent for tenure, a significant
milepost in their careers, and for Byram Hills. The
tenure nominees were honored at a reception before
the meeting, and recognized individually as the Board
acted favorably upon their tenure recommendations.
The appointment to tenure is a culmination of a careful
process in Byram Hills, which involves both formal
and informal observations and evaluations, and a structured
mentoring program for the support of probationary
staff. A list of those appointed is attached.
