SPECIAL REPORT: BOARD GOALS FOR 2005-06
Concluding extensive discussion in Board retreat
sessions and public meetings with one more round of
deliberation, the Board came to consensus agreement
on goals for the
2005-06 school year:
- Extracurricular study/negotiations
- System for ongoing curriculum and program review
- Transportation study
- Byram Hills Administrators Association negotiations
These goals are available to the public in more complete
form, along with the District's Mission Statement
and an outline of other "Continuous Improvement"
topics and activities,

The Board's meetings in the course of the 2005-06
school year will include updates on progress toward
these goals.
ENROLLMENT REPORT:
October 1, 2005 Tallies/Class Sizes
The Superintendent presented the annual enrollment
tally, showing 2,834 students enrolled K-12. This
enrollment is very close to the demographer's projection
of 2,853.
Mr. Chambers also noted that class sizes K-5 are
all within the Board's class-size guidelines; the
same is true of virtually all sections 6-12.
A complete copy of the enrollment report is available
from the Superintendent's office. It will be used
by the District's demographer as an ingredient in
enrollment projections for subsequent years.
NEW EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
The District is preparing to launch a new telephone
notification system for use in emergency closings
(such as snow days) and other important circumstances.
