Byram Hills High School Assistant Principal

Qualifications: NYS administrative certification

  • Successful teaching experience
  • Excellent technology skills
  • Strong background in teacher evaluation systems
  • Knowledge in adolescent development
  • Respect and inclusion of parent involvement
  • Collaboration skills with faculty and administrators
  • Preference: Previous administrative experience
  • Knowledge of student scheduling programs
  • Sample Responsibilities: Supervision of student programs including extra curricular programs, transportation needs and other services
  • Development of master schedule
  • Teacher evaluations
  • Professional development for faculty
  • Supervision of CSEA staff
  • Implementation of NYS testing program And AP programs
  • Implementation of applicable NYS regulations and laws and Byram Hills BOE policies
  • Supervision of security needs

  • Salary: As determined by the BOE based on 12 month school year and BHAA contract

Chairpersonships Grade 6 – 12

This is an excellent administrative opportunity with responsibility in curriculum, instruction, professional development, and staff supervision. The successful candidates will:

  • Provide collaborative leadership with a dedicated faculty and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
  • Engage staff in high quality lesson design and varied assessment practices.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be NYS SED certified as an administrator.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE CHAIRPERSON
Candidates will:

  • Provide leadership in differentiated curriculum development and a strong interest and knowledge of world languages.
  • Be fluent in one or more languages.
  • Model success in part-time teaching role.

GUIDANCE CHAIRPERSON
Candidates will:

  • Have experience with competitive college admissions.
  • Provide effective guidance counseling to a small number of students.
  • Be knowledgeable of best practices in supporting the social and emotional development of students.

MATH CHAIRPERSON
Candidates will:

  • Provide leadership in the math curricular area with differentiated strategies to achieve and maintain standards of excellence.
  • Value the conceptual math approach with skill development.
  • Model success in a part-time teaching role.
