     "In an environment of mutual respect, the Byram Hills School District and its community will provide students with the means, the knowledge, and the opportunity to excel in order to become productive and responsible citizens of the twenty-first century."

     As the Byram Hills superintendent of schools, I want to keep our mission statement vibrant by continuing to learn all I can about our students, staff, and community. This web page provides one big window into the schools, for me and for everyone else who is interested. During the 2007-2008 school year, we are working to make the window even bigger, by bringing the programming of CTV 20, our TV station, to video streaming access on the world wide web – look for it soon!

We invite you to share, through the medium of technology and in the events and experiences in our schools, in our learning. Parents, especially, can help with the learning. Research has shown that a partnership approach between school-students-parents makes for more effective learning. And even beyond that partnership, the support of parents and other community members in organizations like the PTSA, the Bobcat Boosters, and the Byram Hills Education Foundation makes our schools stronger still.

     Together, we can make our mission come alive for students.
