CAREER INVENTORY:
A Web Quest for Sophomores

TABLE OF CONTENTS

INTRODUCTION

The kind of career you will pursue will influence your life in many ways.  The place you live, the schedule you live by, your hobbies, pastimes, friends, your sense of security, your political opinions, the things you read, and even your style of dress all depends on your career.  Therefore, it is important that you prepare for a career by CHOICE and not by chance.  You do not have to decide exactly what you want to do today, but you should be gaining experience and education to help you find the college and occupation that is best suited to you.  This Web Quest is an activity which will help you through the early stage of this process.

PURPOSE is to . . .

  • Assess your aptitudes, skills, personality and possible careers.
  • Explore some careers in depth.
  • Meet with your counselor to learn what resources are available to you in the Counseling Center.
  • Use the information gathered as a basis for your initial college search.

You will take the Interest Finder Quiz, and just check the the box next to any of the activities that you like to do. Your answers are analyzed and fit into TWO of the SIX RIASEC (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising or Conventional) personality types.

2) "Assess Yourself" at Career Zone.
