COURSE #01

TITLE: PROBLEM BASED LEARNING - 3 DAY WORKSHOP

DESCRIPTION: This will be part of Cyber Camp 2018. Details coming soon!

Audience: K - 12 Teachers

Instructor: Innovative Designs for Education (IDE)

Location: TBD

Dates & Times: Week of July 30th, July 31st & August 1st;

9:30am - 2pm (1/2 hr lunch)

Credit: Facilitator (15 hrs), Stipend (15hrs * $50) OR 1 in-service credit*

COURSE #02

TITLE: 2018 CELF SUMMER INSTITUTE: EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY

DESCRIPTION: Explore the field of Education for Sustainability with fellow K-12 colleagues and CELF educators. Renew your passion for teaching with insights and instructional practices that connect learning to sustainable features of the campus and community.

  • Strengthen placed-based learning practices
  • Identify interdisciplinary opportunities in existing curriculum
  • Explore how a district sustainability vision creates global thinkers
  • Support student wellness by connecting with the community's natural habitats
  • Learn how systems thinking can be threaded throughout curricula to increase student engagement
  • Transform lessons and develop student voice through project-based learning
  • Participate in a collaborative program that aligns NGSS with meaningful real-world problem solvin

Audience: K - 12 Teachers

Location: Putnam Valley Middle School

Dates & Times: June 26 - June 28, 8:30am - 3pm

Credit: 1 in-service credit*

Cost: $275 (includes light breakfast and lunch)
