School Counselor (Grades 9-12)

We seek a successful candidate for a School Counselor who exhibits the following criteria:

  • Minimum of five years of counseling experience at the high school level preferred.
  • Excellent skills in academic advisement, career development, college counseling, communication, data-driven analysis and decision-making, evidence-based theories and best practices, and student advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, school and district leaders, and the community.
  • Full familiarity with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model and how it can be used to support the mission of the high school and district.
  • Ability to work well in a challenging and fast-paced environment based on collaboration, collegiality, interpersonal relationships, leadership, partnering, and relational management.

School Counselor (Grades 3-5)

We seek a successful candidate for a School Counselor who exhibits the following criteria:

  • Provides leadership and collaborates with other educators
  • Develops, maintains, and delivers curriculum to support District social and emotional wellness initiatives
  • Assists all students, individually or in groups in promoting academic and social/emotional growth
  • Accurately and appropriately interprets and utilizes student data
  • Provides individual and group counseling to students
  • Consuls and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and other educational/community resources
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Supports teachers, parents/guardians and other stakeholders in maintaining school's positive behavior support climate
  • Participates and facilitates the Instructional Support Team
  • Oversees systems associated with state testing and Academic Intervention Services

Must hold NYS School Counselor certificate.  Accepting applications on OLAS until 4/08/2020.
